LEAD in SOUTH AFRICA

LEAD has many projects in the Capetown South Africa area in which they continue to reach out to the less priviledged children and leaders in South Africa.
The LEAD I CARE HEALTH Network which is headed by Susalla Van Zyl is a very successful project for those infected or affect with HIV/AIDS. LEAD works very closely with the social services and health ministry of South Africa to ensure compliance of the clients that are on treatment. Most of the work that LEAD is doing is in the communities of Blokoembos and Wallacedene. LEADs home based care program assists and compliments what the South African health department is doing by ensuring that clients are
* Educated on the disease processes and managment
* Follow-up consistently and complete treatment regime (especially with the TB population)

LEAD at the PRIMARY SCHOOLS

LEAD has partnered with Alterra Consulting in their "commits to offer creative experiential learning and career development opportunities in the Americas and South Africa for a range of US clients ? primarily students, educators, and members of professional associations." (http://www.alterraconsulting.org/Mission.htm).
LEAD alongside Alltera have impacted the Primary schools in Capetown South Africa through programs they offer for students in America who go to South Africa for this experience. They have worked with groups from Chatham Hall - an all girls (age 9 to12) college preparatory located in Chatham, Virginia. Through our partnership with Alterra, LEAD has also worked with students from American School of London (ASL) "a coeducational, independent school of more than 1,300 international students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. They are dedicated to providing an American education of the highest quality in an international setting.". The trips to africa enable the students to get that international exposure.
LEAD food Program
LEAD also minister to the HIV/AIDs and vulnerable children via it food distribution program. Through the LEAD I CARE HEALTH department, LEAD has partnered with food donors and is able to provide clients whom LEAD sees through the home based care program with the essential foods and nutrition that is vital for their health. LEAD distributes food every month.
The LEAD food Program is in desperate need of a van or car to help distribute the food. Any Donations towards this program would be appreciated.
LEAD in partnership with HOSPICE
LEAD also helps the clients with admission into HOSPICE when pallative care is required.
Palliative care (from Latin palliare, to cloak) is any form of medical care or treatment that concentrates on reducing the severity of disease symptoms, rather than providing a cure. Eagles Nest Hospice is one of the places LEAD sends their clients.
